- Catedral de la Asunción or Hermosillo Cathedral – Located in the heart of the city.
- Cerro de la Capana – Symbol of the city that has a great panoramic view.
- Sonora Museum of Art
- Estadio Sonora – Home of the Naranjeros baseball team. Definitely a must if they are playing at home.

If you love beef this is the capital! The state of Sonora is know for their beef and with great beef comes amazing steaks and delicious carne asada.

- La Siesta – One of the more popular steak house in HMO.
- Del Herradero – Traditional Sonoran steak house.
- Asadero El Lenador – Great for some Carne Asada.
- Other delights you can find all around city in a street carts are Burros Pecherons and Sonoran Hot Dogs! Oh, and don’t forget your Coyotas for desert.
Getting there
- By Airport: General Ignacio Pesqueira García International Airport. Not a very trafficked airport, but it is expanding.
- By Vehicle: Hermosillo is about a 3 hour drive from the US border of Nogales. It’s also on the way to destination beach cities of Bahia de Kino and San Carlos.

Hermosillo has a hotel zone, “Zona Hotelera” where you can easily find a place you like including big hotel chains like Marriott and Holiday Inn.
Transportation
- Uber: Limited, but they do exist.
- Taxis: Pretty easy to get.
- Car Rental: Probably the best way to go.
