Buffalo is home to some food firsts, including spicy hot Buffalo Wings tossed in Frank’s RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce. Another food first is happening in Buffalo by Southern Junction which is Indian Barbecue fusion. They’re calling themselves “a Texish Smokehouse”.

Main Menu items

  • Rib Plate – Spice rubbed, maple glazed.
  • Frito Curry Pie (Brisket or Chicken) – Fritos topped with smoked chicken curry.
  • Chicken Plate – Kerala spiced chicken, smoked Texas style.
  • Pulled Pork – by the pound.
  • Beef Brisket – by the pound.

Sides to try

  • Biriyani Rice – Basmati rice cooked cooked South Indian style, layered with slow cooked curry sauce.
  • Texas Brisket Twinkies – XL bacon wrapped jalapeños. Stuffed with cream cheese, sharp cheddar, and chopped brisket. Smoked then glazed with maple.
  • Ranch Style Beans – Pinto beans, spiced with ancho chili blend. Smoked low and slow. *Contains beef stock, so this item is not vegetarian.
  • Macaroni & Cheese – Oaxaca, Sharp Cheddar, and Gouda blend. Smoked Jalapeno added on request.
  • Loaded Mashed Potato – Classic loaded mash. Topped with bacon, scallion, cheddar.

How it works

Smoked food is prepared ahead of time and lasts until it’s sold out like many Texas BBQ smokehouses such as Pecan Lodge in Dallas. So it’s best to pre-order meals.

  2. Pay by the Pound: Beef Brisket and Pull Pork options in bulk.
  3. Select Pickup Time: pick up in person at the smokehouse.
  4. Eat: don’t forget to post a review online.
