Mexico City or CDMX is a metropolis rich of culture with tons of things to do and places to see, but the very best of CDMX is the food. Here is a quick guide for La Ciudad De México!
Flying in
Mexico City International Airport; officially Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez is an international airport that serves Greater Mexico City. A new airport is currently under construction. Mexico City’s New International Airport (NAICM) is planned to be opened in September/October 2020.
Transportation
- Uber – Probably the easiest way to get around the city but do expect lots of traffic.
- Metro – Mostly used by the capitalinos. Expect huge crowds during peak hours.
- Taxis – They are everywhere! The most popular are the white ones that have CDMX on them.
- Capital Bus – A tour bus that has stops around the city.
Places to see
Palacio de Bellas Artes, Chapultepec, Chapultepec Castle, National Museum of Anthropology, La Merced Market, Ciudadela Market, Pyramid of the Sun (about an 1hr outside of the city), and the list goes on…
Places to eat
THERE ARE SOO MANY! It all depends on what type you are into. You can find food anywhere around the city. Here are just a few we places we went to that were great!
- El Balcón del Zócalo – Great good and spectular view of el Zócalo.
- El Cardenal – Great place to have breakfast.
- Azul – Very traditional cuisine.
- La Casa de Toño – Delicious Pozole!
- Lonchería Bravo – Had breakfast there and it was amazing!
- The Streets – Literally there is food at every corner.
During our stay we rented an apartment near El Ángel using Airbnb and it was great. If hotels are more your thing check out Paseo de la Reforma. It is a grand avenue linking the city center with the Chapultepec Castle. Lots of hotels and will be located in the heart of the city.
